Hi. I am Nirmali. I would describe myself as an open minded, educated woman looking for a man with liberal values and optimism in life. Currently I am pursuing PhD from IIT Kanpur in sociology and planning for a career in academics. I love my research work but I believe in living a balanced life.

My friends and relatives see me as mature, sensible and adjusting by nature.
I enjoy traveling and reading because these help me to learn and grow. My leisure activities include watching good movies, listening to good music, cooking, going for a walk etc. I have been taking part in community activities and I find them a great way to utilize my energy and actually doing what I believe in.

I respect people with out of box thinking, creative spirits and balanced attitude towards life and get disappointed by immaturity and arrogance. I believe that making money is only a means to live a lifestyle but it does not necessarily make life meaningful. It would be great if my prospective partner shares or appreciates similar views in life.

I belong to an Assamese family but I was born and brought up in Varanasi. My father died in 1995 but left a deep impression on me. My mother is a sweet and simple lady who is an avid reader of books. My brother is working in State Bank of India. He shares great enthusiasm for theater with my sister in law. My younger sister is working in an HR firm in Delhi.

In brief ours is a small but close knit family with a balance of liberal and social values.
